Omer Toprak – ‘Gokhan Tore played with my life’ [divider]
Bayer Leverkusen defender Ömer Toprak revealed that he turned down his recent Turkish national team call up because of Gökhan Töre.
“Under these circumstances, it is not possible for me to play for Turkey,” Toprak told Süddeutsche Zeitung.
“I was really scared, Töre played with my career and my lift.”
“I wanted to clarify the matter internally, I would have naturally desired for it to be sorted out”
Toprak, Hakan Çalhanoğlu and Töre were involved in an altercation last year which resulted in a gun being pulled on the Bayer duo.
Töre was reported to have had a fight with a friend of Toprak while a friend of the Beşiktaş winger held a gun to both Bayer players.

The incident sparked outrage but Terim has decided to forgive Töre at what seemed the expense of Toprak and Çalhanoğlu.
Çalhanoğlu has accepted to return to the national team fold unlike Toprak.
Turkey will take on the Netherlands in a Euro 2016 group stage qualifier game on 28 March.
