Galatasaray have been practicing ‘gegenpressing’ during training, this form of pressing was popularised by Klopp.
Klopp described gegenpressing as being: “The best moment to win the ball is immediately after your team just lost it.
“The opponent is still looking for orientation where to pass the ball. He will have taken his eyes off the game to make his tackle or interception and he will have expended energy. Both make him vulnerable.”
The German manager popularised ‘gegenpressing’ at Borussia Dortmund and applies the same methods at Liverpool.
Tudor is into his second stint as a manager following his brief spell at Karabukspor.
The Croatian manager has been using ‘gegenpressing’ and other tactics inspired by Klopp during his training sessions this week.
Galatasaray take on Turkish league leaders and reigning champions Besiktas in the Istanbul derby over the weekend.
The derby could prove to be a pivotal point in the league campaign. Besiktas are currently seven points clear of Galatasaray who are 3rd.
A victory for the Black Eagles would deliver a serious blow to the Lions title aspirations. Meanwhile a Galatasaray win would put them firmly back in the race.
Tudor will take charge of his second game as Galatasaray manager against Besiktas.
