Liverpool wanted him, now Turkish fans are raising €25m to sign Anderson Talisca
Anderson Talisca was closely linked with a move to Liverpool over the summer, in fact Portuguese newspaper O Jogo claimed the Reds had agreed a €25 million deal for the Brazilian international.
Per the source, the transfer was on hold due to visa requirements.
The transfer ended up stalling and Besiktas swooped in towards the end of the transfer window, snapping him up on a two-year loan deal.
Talisca does have a €25 million release clause but Besiktas would currently struggle to active his clause.
The Black Eagles have only recently recovered from a financial crisis and were suspended from European competitions in 2013-14 for breaching UEFA Fair Play warnings.
Besiktas fans have however, attempted to find a way around putting the club back into debt.
The Istanbul giants released a t-shirt last week following Talisca’s latest long range goal during the 3-0 victory over Akhisar.
Besiktas fans have organised a campaign to mass buy the new t-shirt to raise the £20 million required for the transfer to go ahead.
The supporters organisation have agreed to go ahead with the proposal between 25-26 February.
All Besiktas fans have been invited to the official club stores ‘Kartal Yuvasi’ to purchase a Talisca t-shirt.
Talisca has established himself as a fan favourite at Besiktas scoring eight times and providing three assists in 18 appearances this season.
The 23-year-old became an instant hit when he scored a last-gasp free-kick against his parent club Benfica at the Stadio da Luz in the Champions League group stages.
The Brazil international is currently the 6th highest rated player in the league statistically according to Whoscored.
Talisca is surprisingly adept with his feet for a player 1.91 metres tall. The powerful attacking midfielder has wonderful technical ability, an impressive passing range and a lethal long range shot.
