Former Germany international roasts Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil, questions why Real Madrid sold him
Former Liverpool and Manchester City midfielder Dietmar Hamann has slammed Arsenal’s star playmaker Mesut Ozil.
Writing on his blog page, Hamann stated that he is no fan of Ozil however urged fans not to treat him as a scapegoat. Ozil has not scored a goal for Arsenal since 10 December 2016.
The former Germany international also questioned Ozil’s consistency and why Real Madrid decided to sell him.
“I never believed the hype about Mesut Ozil, but he shouldn’t be treated as a scapegoat either,” Dietmar Hamann wrote in his Paddy Power blog.
“The bottom line with Arsenal is they’ve got some players who play in September, October and November but don’t turn up in February and March. That’s when it matters.
“There’s a reason Real Madrid sold Ozil.”
Mesut Ozil made the move to Arsenal from Real Madrid for a club record £40 million back in September 2013.

The 28-year-old has provided eight assists and scored nine goals in 29 apperances for the Gunners so far this season. Ozil returned to training in north London today following a short break in Turkey.
Arsenal have the weekend off as their opponents Southampton will be playing in the FA Cup on Sunday.
The Gunners next fixture is against their title rivals Liverpool at Anfield on March 4.
