Barcelona transfer news: Wonder-kid Emre Demir nicknamed the ‘Turkish Messi’ handed trial
Turkish youngster Emre Demir has been handed a 14 day trial at Barcelona after impressing scouts from the club a source close to his club Kayserispor revealed to Turkish-Football.
Demir left for Spain today and will train at the La Masia academy, if his trial is successful his representative will hold talks over a transfer to Barcelona.
The 12-year-old would become the second Turk at Barcelona, joining Arda Turan.
Who is Emre Demir?
Despite being 12-years-old, Demir has been called up to the Turkish national team U14 team and already has three caps.
Demir plays in a No.10 role for the Kayserispor U14 side where he has a phenomenal record.
The youngster has scored 46 goals in 42 games and scored twice in four games in the Turkish academy league finals.
Demir is a left footed player who has impressive technical ability for such a young player and has been nicknamed the ‘Turkish Messi’ by the media in Turkey.
The Kayserispor youngster would become the latest of a growing list of Turkish players who have left the domestic league to move abroad if he does complete his move to Barcelona.
Twenty year-old Manchester City striker Enes Unal, 20-year-old Freiburg defender Caglar Soyuncu and 14-year-old Valencia youngster Ferhat Cogalan have all earned high profile moves abroad over the past few years.
Demi would however, become the first Turkish international player to join the prestigious Barcelona La Masia.
