Besiktas held onto their four point lead over Basaksehir at the top of the Turkish league table after a 1-0 victory against Caykur Rizespor at the Vodafone Arena.
The match was hardly a footballing spectacle but there was one moment of magic. Gokhan Gonul who joined Besiktas from their Istanbul rivals Fenerbahce scored his first goal of the season and it could not have come at a more important time.

Had Gonul not scored the Black Eagles gap at the top of the table would have been reduced to just one point.
Besiktas are currently locked in the title race with Basaksehir, fellow Istanbul giants Galatasaray and Fenerbahce are 10 and 12 points behind the leaders, respectively.
The Eagles take on Olympiacos next in the Europa League Last 16 first-leg clash in Greece.
