West Ham transfer news: Hammers join race for Argentina international
West Ham United have joined the race for the Argentina international Pablo Zabaleta.
According to the Turkish newspaper Fanatik, Fenerbahce are keen on signing the experinced right-back this summer.
Per the source, West Ham boss Slaven Bilic also wants to add Zabaleta to his squad.
The Hammers have struggled with their full-back positions this season. England international winger Michail Antonio was even deployed at right-back at one point.
Zabaleta’s contract with Manchester City expires at the end of the season and the 32-year-old has found himself on the fringes of Pep Guardiola’s squad.
Fanatik goes onto state that Fenerbahce are on the lookout for a new right-back following the departure of Gokhnal Gonul last summer.
Zabaleta has provided one assist and scored two goals in 26 apperances for Man City this season.
Fenerbahce are currently in forth place in the Turkish league after their come-back win over Alanyaspor on Friday. The Yellow Canaries take on Konyaspor next weekend.
