“I am very happy at Liverpool. In the future I can play for many years at Liverpool,” Can was quoted as saying by the Guardian.

Can also dismissed allegations that he has not signed a new deal because he wants more money.

The midfielder is currently paid £35,000 a week and the report that claim that Can’s representatives have been asking for £100,000 a week.

Can however, dismissed claims that he has not signed for money and instead pointed out that contract talks were put on hold because he had an injury.

“I read in newspapers it was about money but it isn’t about money. We’ve had a few good meetings and everything is fine,” he added.

“Everything is fine and I just wanted to say it is never about the money. It is about the future, what happens. The last few months the most important thing has been that I am pain-free and we have spoken more about that than the contract.”

The 23-year-old also revealed that contract talks will resume in the next few weeks and months.

“We will speak in the next few weeks and months and see what happens. I want to play injury-free. The meetings are with my agent,” he said.

Can scored his first goal of 2017 in the 2-1 win over Burnley. The midfielder has started the Reds last three league games but it remains to be seen whether head coach Jurgen Klopp will stick with him once captain Jordan Henderson recovers from injury.
