Unal currently holds the record for being the highest scoring Turkish international player in Eredivisie history.

The Turkish international star has 12 league goals this season, surpassing Kazim Richards who held the previous record of 11 goals at Feyenoord.

Unal broke the record with a spectacular long range effort against Willem II a fortnight ago.

The young forward is no stranger to breaking records, he became the youngest scorer in the Turkish league when he netted for Bursaspor against Galatasaray aged just 16.

The 19-year-old striker is likely to spend next season on loan as well as he currently does not have a work permit to play in England.

Unal could be granted a exemption from the FA if City boss Pep Guardiola makes an appeal for the youngster to be granted special permission to play in the Premier League.
