The young forward is no stranger to breaking records, he became the youngest scorer in the Turkish league when he netted for Bursaspor against Galatasaray aged just 16.
The 19-year-old striker is likely to spend next season on loan as well as he currently does not have a work permit to play in England.
Unal could be granted a exemption from the FA if City boss Pep Guardiola makes an appeal for the youngster to be granted special permission to play in the Premier League.
