Arsenal have confirmed that Mesut Ozil was dropped from the squad ahead of the West Brom clash due to injury.
News that Ozil had not been included in the match day squad sparked a social media storm as he had been involved in team training throughout the week.

The Germany international of Turkish origin did however, pick up a hamstring injury at the end of training on Friday 17 March according to the official Arsenal twitter account.
Arsenal also confirmed that Lucas is also out and shared a picture of both players in a single tweet.
Ozil has played just 83 minutes of football in all competitions over the course of the Gunners last three games due to illness and injury.
