Sunderland transfer news: Fenerbahce make interesting offer for Netherland international
Fenerbahce have offered Sunderland an unconventional loan swap deal which will see Jeremain Lens remain in Istanbul.
According to the Turkish outlet Milliyet, Fenerbahce have offered to loan out their star midfielder Salih Ucan to Sunderland, in exchange for loaning Lens for another season.
Per the source, Sunderland were interested in signing Ucan for €7 million last summer.
Lens has been a huge success at Fenerbahce since joining on loan at the beginning of the season. The Netherlands international is statistically one of the best player in Turkish league.
Lens provided an impressive 13 assists and four goals in 26 apperances for Fenerbahce this season.
The football statistic’s website WhoScored has rated the Dutch winger as the best player in the league.
A source close to the club recently revealed to Turkish-Football that the Yellow Canaries are keen on signing Lens end of the season.
Lens’ move to Fenerbahce may depend on if Sunderland remain in the Premier League. The Black Cats are at the foot of the table with just 20 points.
