Revealed – Arsenal to hold crunch talks with star names -Alexis Sanchez & Mesut Ozil – this summer
Arsenal have put contract negotiations with both Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez on hold until the end of the season.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has admitted that the north London based club have been unable to strike a deal with the duo.
Wenger went to tell BeIn Sports that further talks will be held with Ozil and Sanchez at the end of the season.
“We have decided to focus on the end of the season and talk about it during the summer,” Wenger told BeIN Sports.
“It is the same situation with Ozil, because once you don’t find an agreement and the negotiation lasts, it is not good.
“It is better you get it out and sit down in the summer.”
Both Ozil and Sanchez’s contract with Arsenal expires at the end of next season. The Gunners may be forced into selling the pair if they are unable to strike a new deal.
Mesut Ozil missed Arsenal’s embarrassing 3-1 defeat at the hands of West Brom last weekend while Alexis Sanchez was taken off with an ankle injury.
Ozil also missed Germany’s 1-0 victory over England due to a hamstring injury. The 28-year-old has provided nine assists and nine goals in 31 appearances for Arsenal this season.
The Gunners take on Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City in their next Premier League fixture.
