Ian Wright reacts to Galatasaray striker claiming Wenger built Arsenal from ‘nothing’
Arsenal legend Ian Wright hit back at Lukas Podolski claiming Arsene Wenger built the club from nothing by urging the German striker to brush up on his history.
Wright sent out a tweet in response to Podolski’s comments made after the 1-0 victory over England in his testimonial game.
“I follow nearly every match – when not live then on social media – and I don’t know what has happened,” Podolski told Sky Sports News HQ.
“Arsene Wenger is a good guy and a good coach. He built this club from nothing to now. It will be interesting what happens in the next few months.”

Arsenal were in fact a successful club before Wenger took charge 20 years ago.
The North London based outfit have won the league title 13 times, only three championships have been won by Wenger.
The Gunners sole European trophy, the UEFA Cup Winners Cup was won in 1994.
Wenger has been successful in the FA Cup lifting the trophy six times – Arsenal have won the cup 12 times in total.
The French manager has however, failed to win a league title since 2004 and has stagnated in the Champions League.
Arsenal have bowed out of the Champions League at the Last 16 stage for the last seven years.
