Arsenal news: Robert Pires reveals which player is more important than Ozil & Sanchez
Arsenal legend Robert Pires has chimed in on the problems at the Emirates this season.
The former France international believes that Santi Cazorla’s injury has been a key factor behind Arsenal’s struggles.
The Gunners looked on course to challenge for the Premier League title this season however, the wheels came off in December. The north London based club have been in a steady decline ever since and were humiliated by West Brom in their previous fixture.
Pires believes Arsenal’s drop in form coincides with Cazorla’s injury. The Spain international has been sidelined for the remainder of the season with an ankle problem.

“The most important [thing] is missing Santi Cazorla. He is one of the best players at Arsenal. He’s been injured for four months now and this is a real problem for Arsenal.”
“The message from Wenger [must be] to say, ‘the season is not finished – we are six points from the Champions League [places] and we need to fight.
“I want to see a good reaction and a good spirit.
“When I see the guys on the pitch, the quality is very good but sometimes we need more commitment, more spirit, more fighting.”
Arsenal take on Manchester City his weekend and are faced with fresh injury concerns. Sanchez came off injured during their defeat to West Brom while Ozil has suffered both a back and hamstring injury in recent weeks.
