Michael Ballack reveals what Arsenal star must do to become world class

Former Germany international Michael Ballack has revealed how Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil can become a ‘world class’ player.

Ballack admitted that he is a huge fan of Ozil and believes he has the potential to be one of the worlds best players.

The former Chelsea and Bayern Munich star has urged Ozil to shake off negative comments regarding his form from the media and fans. Ballack believes Ozil is currently allowing criticism to affect his performances on the field.

“He is one of the best players in the world at the moment,” Ballack told SkySports.

“He has a great left foot, a great touch, a good view for the game, combined with his speed with the ball especially. He can have a huge influence on the game and can change games.

“What he can improve is mentally how he deals with certain situations, as if he feels comfortable on the pitch, then he is one of the best players in the world.

“But everyone has difficult situations in the game where you get criticism and you have to go through that and deal with it.

“But I just wish he could step up a bit more and be a bit more against the opinions of the media, fans, or whoever, because he is a good player and sometimes he should have more confidence.

“And then he can maybe take another step towards becoming a world-class player, because he has the potential.”

Ozil missed Germany’s victory over England last week due to a back injury. However, the 28-year-old did make an appearance off the bench during Germany’s win over Azerbaijan.

Arsenal take on Manchester City in the Premier League this weekend. The Gunners have lost four of their last five games and find themselves in sixth spot. City meanwhile are unbeaten in their last seven league games.
