Birmingham City fans react to Kerim Frei being dropped again against Ipswich Town on social media
Birmingham City were held to a 1-1 draw agains Ipswich Town on Saturday.
Jonathan Grounds put the Blues ahead early on but Ipswich equalised when Grant Ward’s overhit cross flew over Tomasz Kuszczak.
Blues head coach Gianfranco Zola had attacking options at his disposal to try and force the win but he decided to leave Kerim Frei on the bench.
The Turkish international did not receive playing time for the second consecutive game.
Frei has played a total of 371 minutes of Championship football since joining from Besiktas in January.

We took a look at how Birmingham City fans reacted to Frei being dropped once again on social media.
It does seem odd for Zola not to play Frei considering the money spent on him over the winter transfer window.
Wasn’t one of the reasons for dismissing our former manager, that the board didnt trust him to spend? *cough Kerim Frei cough* #bcfc

There does seem to be a demand from the fans to see more of Frei in action.
Gutted to draw today, #BCFC fans were decent, good number there. Got some good players, I’d like to have seen Kerim Frei and Keita #ITFC ⚽⚽

It was also odd that Zola did not make use of Frei in the late stages of the game when a win was required.
IMAGINE DRAWING WITH 10 MINUTES TO GO, NEEDING A WIN, HAVING CHE ADAMS AND KERIM FREI ON THE BENCH AND BRINGING ON NEITHER OF THEM

@FinallyFrei Agreed fella. Get Kerim Frei and Cheick Keita on the pitch.

The all important FM rating.
@BCFC @Official_ITFC Kerim Frei is such a waste of talent he’s still young. If it means anything he got 10 assists by November on my fm save
