Galatasaray transfer news: Man City to use Mangala in part-exchange deal for Valencia star

Galatasaray have suffered a blow in the race to sign Eliaquim Mangala.

According to the Daily Star, Man City want to use Mangala in a part-exchange deal for Valencia’s left-back Jose Luis Gaya.

Per the source, Arsenal are also interested in the Spanish star defender.

Meanwhile the Milliyet have stated that Gala target Mangala has been placed on the transfer list by manager Pep Guardiola. The France international is currently out on loan at Valencia.

Galatasaray boss Igor Tudor is keen to improve his defensive options over the summer transfer window.

The Lions will also have to replace Aurélien Chedjou who is expected to leave the club this summer when his contract expires.

Mangala has scored two goals in 22 apperances for Valencia this season. The 26-year-old joined Man City for a lofty £32 million (BBC) from Porto back in 2014.

Valencia take on Granada in the Spanish League this weekend.
