Revealed: Man United scouts monitored £17m defensive target over the weekend

Manchester United send scout to monitor defensive target Simon Kjaer over the weekend.

Turkish newspaper Turkish sports newspaper Fanatik reported that Man United scouts were at the Fenerbahce vs Akhisar clash on Sunday 9 April.

Fenerbahce defender Simon Kjaer has been subject to widespread interest this season with several clubs across Europe expressing an interest.

United have been closely linked with Kjaer this season but may have to part with £17 million in order to secure his services.

Fanatik recently reported that Fenerbahce will consider offers that match their £17 million [€20m] transfer valuation for Kjaer this summer.

Kjaer has experience playing in France and Italy but has never played Premier League football.

Fenerbahce are keen on keeping Kjaer at the club and he has settled into life in Istanbul but the club be forced to sell to meet Financial Fair Play regulations.

The Yellow Canaries will have to make up six points to catch second placed Basaksehir if they are to book a Champions League spot next season.

Kjaer has three goals and one assist in 35 appearances for Fenerbahce in all competitions this season.
