Man City join race for £17m Man United target, as official sent on trip to club
Manchester City have joined to the race for Fenerbahce centre-back Simon Kjaer.
A source close to Fenerbahce revealed that Manchester City sent a scout to watch the Denmark international over the weekend against Akhisar.
Kjaer started in the 2-1 victory over Akhisar which moved his side into third place in the Turkish league.
The latest report follows Turkish sports newspaper Fanatik claiming that he is also a Man United target and that the club also had a scout at the game.
City have not been linked with Kjaer in the past but Pep Guardiola is expected to make changes to his defence next season.

Only Liverpool have conceded more than City’s 35 goals in the current Premier League top five this season.
The experienced defender is a fan favourite at Fenerbahce and the club value him as being worth £17 million according to Fanatik.
The Yellow Canaries are intent on keeping Kjaer unless their valuation is met.
Fenerbahce are facing pressure from Financial Fair Play and want to avoid a similar fate to rivals Galatasaray who were suspended from European competition this season as a result of their finances.
