Lyon boss ‘honoured’ with being rated more dangerous than Man United
Lyon manager Bruno Genesio has revealed that he was honoured with his side being rated more dangerous than Manchester United.
Besiktas head coach Senol Gunes revealed that he would rather have faced Manchester United instead of Lyon.
Gunes stated that he felt Lyon are a more dangerous side to face and that the Ligue 1 outfit are being underrated.

“If you had offered me Manchester United or Lyon, I would have taken United, because with Lyon we have to play a team with a great attack that plays quick football. We’re up against a tough side, but we got here by overcoming difficulties,” Gunes was quoted as saying on the official UEFA website.
Genesio responded to a question at his pre-match press conference regarding Gunes’ statement regarding Lyon.
The Lyon boss replied: “I had not heard what he said actually but I am honoured by it, we will see tomorrow what happens.”
Genesio also revealed that while he does not think Besiktas are as strong as Roma, they will be no pushovers.
“I do not think they are as strong as Roma but they are a strong side with individually talented players who cannot be taken lightly,” he added.
United are the bookmakers favourites to win the Europa League with Lyon the second most likely side to lift the trophy according to oddsmakers.
Besiktas will take on Lyon in France tomorrow hoping to take a step towards their first ever Europa League semi-final.
The Black Eagles head into the clash as league leaders and defending Super Lig champions.
United meanwhile face Anderlecht in Belgium for their quarter-final first leg clash.
