£65m Man United target with 24 goals urged to join Chelsea by ex-Galatasaray striker

Ex-Galatasaray striker Didier Drogba has revealed that Chelsea would be the right destination for Romelu Lukaku.

Drogba who calls Lukaku his “little brother” urged the striker to consider returning to Chelsea.

The former Chelsea striker feels it would be in the best interests of Chelsea and Lukaku.

“If he comes to Chelsea it will be great for the club,” he told Sky Sports reporter Gary Cotterill.

“He knows the house already and I think he wants to prove he can be successful here, he didn’t get the chance to do it. Chelsea is his club since he was young, so why not? He wants to be the best. He’s really working hard to become the best.”

Everton want at least £65 million for their star man according to the Daily Mail.

Lukaku is no stranger to Chelsea who sold him to Everton for £28m in 2014 but the Blues could face competition from Manchester United.

The Mirror report that Jose Mourinho is eyeing Lukaku as a potential replacement if Zlatan Ibrahimovic leaves over the summer.

Lukaku has been in fine goal scoring form this season netting 24 times for the Toffees.

The powerful striker could however, be headed for a summer exit after contract talks with Everton broke down.

Galatasaray have been linked with a loan move for Lukaku in the past but considering the current form and financial situation of the club I think it is safe to say the Lions are out of the race.

Drogba may be a Chelsea legend but he remains a cult figure among Galatasaray fans following his brief stint at the club.

The powerful striker won the league title and regularly visits the club training grounds and promotes the team through his social media posts.
