Liverpool team news: Jurgen Klopp receives major injury boost
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has received a major – and much needed – injury boost.
The Reds have been struggling to cover for the injured Sadio Mane in recent weeks but it seems the solution is on the horizon.
The German tactician has confirmed that club captain Jordan Henderson and Adam Lallana will return in the near future. However, the pair will not be ready ahead of this weekend’s clash with West Brom.
Lannana and Henderson have both been in America for rehab on their respective injuries.
“It was clear from the beginning that it was not a fixed term. We are still waiting. He feels nothing but we have to make steps so that he can be part of team training,” Klopp stated at a press-conference.
“It could be next week in training or the week after. I’m pretty sure he could have a few games.
“Adam will be back in training after the Crystal Palace game.”
Jordan Henderson’s return could have an impact on Emre Can. The 23-year-old has enjoyed a regular spot in Klopp’s starting lineup following the injury to Henderson.
Liverpool are currently third in the Premier League with 62 points after 32 games.
The Merseyside based club take on West Brom this weekend as they look to continue their winning run.
