Arsenal star reveals Arsene Wenger’s response when his pet dogs went missing
Mesut Ozil’s recent revelations have made us question whether Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger really is as laid back as he comes across.
Ozil exposed all in his recently published autobiography ‘Gunning For Greatness’ including a bizarre training ground showdown with Wenger over his pet dogs.
The Germany international of Turkish origin appears to have a soft spot for his pugs and regularly shares pictures and videos of them on social media.
The 28-year-old revealed that Wenger can be a little strict at times: “Being at Arsenal is a bit like being at school.”
Ozil recounts a time when he lost his dogs and asked Wenger if he could leave training to go and look for them.
According to the Mirror, the Wenger shot down Ozil’s request and did not see the urgency for him to go on a search party.
“Your pugs will come back,” was Wenger’s reply as he ushered Ozil back onto the pitch.
We assume Ozil did end up finding his dogs as he only recently shared an Instagram video taking Balboa for a walk.

Ozil is expected to start for the Gunners in the FA Cup semi-final against Manchester City on Sunday.
