Liverpool ace Lucas Leiva agrees to join Euro giants on condition of £3.4 million salary
Galatasaray are closing in on Liverpool’s Brazilian star midfielder Lucas Leiva.
According to the Turkish outlet Fotomac, the Lions are close to sealing a deal with the 30-year-old.
Per the source, Lucas has agreed to make the move to Galatasaray. However, Lucas is holding out for £3.4 million per-season salary but the Istanbul giants are unwilling to budge on their £2.1 million offer.
Lucas’ contract with Liverpool expires at the end of the season. The experienced midfielder is free to discuss terms with interested parties.
Further negotiations will take place as the two parties look to strike a deal.
Lucas joined Liverpool from Gremio back in 2007. The experinced midfielder is currently the Reds longest serving player.
The 30-year-old has been regularly featured in Liverpool’s starting line-up in recent weeks. Lucas has one goal in 24 appearances so far this season for the Merseyside based club.
