Man United news: Monaco try to hijack £21m Brazilian star transfer

Besiktas star Anderson Talisca continues to be linked with a summer transfer.

Monaco are the latest club to have joined the race for the the Brazilian attacking midfielder.

French football magazine France Football claim that the Ligue 1 giants are plotting a move for Talisca.

Turkish newspaper Hurriyet report that Monaco are in an advantageous position to hijack Manchester United’s efforts to sign Talisca.

The 23-year-old is on loan at Besiktas from Benfica. The Black Eagles did agree to a two-year loan but his temporary loan will be cut short if his £21 million release clause is activated.

Radyospor host Leven Umut Erol recently shared a short clip revealing that he had been informed of United making an effort for the Brazilian attacking midfielder.

Erol said: “Manchester United have made an offer to Benfica for Anderson Talisca that will trigger his release clause, it looks like he will be saying goodbye to Besiktas.”

United do however, have one problem. As things stand Talisca would not be permitted to play in the Premier League due to not having a work permit.

The Home Office could grant Talisca permission to play on the basis of being a special talent who would contribute to football in England.

Monaco however, face no such constraints and would be able to play the 23-year-old.

Besiktas meanwhile are desperate to keep Talisca at the club following a brilliant breakthrough season.

The 23-year-old has directly been involved in 20 goals – 16 goals, four assists.

A source close to Besiktas told Turkish-Football that they want to keep Talisca on but would be unable to activate his release clause.

Besiktas are in talks with Benfica over a solution and hope that he honours his agreement to stay on for two-seasons.

The Istanbul giants are firm favourites to defend the Turkish league title and guarantee Champions League football next season.
