Revealed: Only Fenerbahce interested in signing £42m Arsenal record signing
Mesut Ozil has fallen out of favour with Arsenal fans this season following a string of inconsistent performances.
However, the 28-year-old seems to have also fallen out of favour with Europes’ finest.
According to the Telegraph, the only club currently interested in signing Mesut Ozil are the Turkish league giant’s Fenerbahce.
Per the source, the Yellow Canaries have made a serious enquiry regarding Ozil’s availability.
The news will weaken Ozil’s bargaining position when he holds contract talks with Arsenal at the end of the season.
Ozil’s Arsenal future is shrouded in mystery after failing to strike a contract extension.
The former Real Madrid man will have just 12 months remaining on his current deal this summer. Ozil joined Arsenal from Madrid for a club record £42 million back in September 2013 (BBC).
Fenerbahce are on the lookout for a marquee signing this summer with Robin van Persie nearing a summer exit.
Ozil has had a disappointing season by his standards. The Germany international has registered 11 goals and 11 assists to his name this term.
