Arsenal transfer news: Signing of £85m in demand wonderkid Kylian Mbappe could convince Mesut Ozil, Sanchez to stay

Ian Wright has stated that Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez would stay at Arsenal if they signed Kylian Mbappe.

The Daily Mail recently linked the north London-based club with a £85 million move for the France international.

Per the source, Arsene Wenger has promised Mbappe an important role in the side as a central striker.

The Mail also state that Real Madrid and Chelsea are also interested.

The 18-year-old has already established himself as one of Europe’s hottest prospects. Mbappe has netted five goals in eight Champions League appearances. The young striker also netted 14 league goals for Monaco.

Ian Wright believes that both Ozil and Sanchez could be convinced to stay if Mbappe is signed.

“I’m reading Arsenal will sign Mbappe in £85m deal. That will be a massive shock to everyone if it happens,” Wright told BBC’s 606 podcast.

“Maybe it’s just to placate the Arsenal fans. He’s the type of signing that needs to happen to keep Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez.”

Mbappe is expected to feature for Monaco when they take on Serie A champions Juventus tonight.

Both Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez’s contracts expire in a little over 12 months.

The duo featured in Arsenal’s 2-0 win over rivals Manchester United last weekend. The Gunners take on Southampton on Wednesday night as they look to keep their Champions league qualification hopes alive.
