Liverpool news: How the Reds can qualify for the UEFA Champions League
Liverpool are one victory away from securing UEFA Champions League football next season.
The Reds took a massive step towards a top-four finish following their 4-0 win against West Ham at the London stadium.
Jurgen Klopp’s side take on Middlesborough this weekend in their last game of the season.
Liverpool are currently third but it is out of their hands whether they end the season in the same position.
Manchester City will overtake the Reds if they win their remaining games.
Should Liverpool finish fourth, they will need to navigate past the Champions League qualifying rounds before making it to the group stage.
The highest position Liverpool can currently finish is third and that would take City dropping points.
Liverpool could actually still miss out on Champions League football next season if they fail to beat Boro.
Arsenal have two remaining games and if they were to win both matches they would overtake Liverpool if the Reds drop points to Boro.
Of course if Arsenal were to lose any of their last two games it would not matter what result Liverpool got against Boro as they would secure fourth-place.
Germany international of Turkish origin Emre Can has played a key role in Liverpool’s recent run of good form.
The Reds have lost just two of their last 12 games in which the Germanny international has started.
Can also has previous experience of playing in the Champions League with Bayer Leverkusen.
