Man City transfer news: Injured Germany international Julian Weigl could follow Ilkay Gundogan footsteps
Dortmund youngster Julian Weigl may be following his former teammate Ilkay Gundogan to Manchester City.
The Italian outlet Calcio Mercato has linked the Germany international with the Citizens. Per the source, Pep Guardiola is keen to sign Weigl this summer as he looks to strengthen his squad.
The young midfielder has made 43 appearances for Dortmund this season.
Weigl is currently sidelined with an ankle injury which is expected to keep him out for four months. However, Ilkay Gundogan was signed to City under similar circumstances.

Pep Guardiola has failed to live up to expectations in his first season in the Premier League. City currently sit in fourth place with 72 points after 36 games.
The Citizens will need to defeat both West Brom and Watford in their remaining two league games to guarantee a place in the UEFA Champions League.
