Germany international Ilkay Gundogan reacts to Man City 5-0 victory over Watford FC

Germany international playmaker Ilkay Gundogan shared his thoughts on social media following Man City’s win over Watford FC.

The Citizens registered a 5-0 victory over Watford to guarantee a third place finish in the Premier League. Pep Guardiola’s side have also booked their place in the UEFA Champions League group stages next season.

Vincent Kompany opened the scoring after just five minutes while a brace from Sergio Aguero made it 3-0 after 36 minutes.

Fernandinho put the game beyond after making it 4-0 shortly ahead of half-time. Wonderkid Gabriel Jesus put the icing on the cake mid-way though the second half making it 5-0.

Gundogan has been sidelined since last December following a knee ligament injury.

The 26-year-old is expected to make a return this summer ahead of pre-season. Gundogan took to Twitter after the game and stated, “5-0! CHAMPIONS LEAGUE! I’m proud of you guys.”
