Mesut Ozil has come under fire from sections of the Arsenal fanbase and media at times this season.

The Turkish origin playmaker did however, end the season on a high, winning his third FA Cup title.

Fellow teammate Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain had nothing but praise for Ozil heading into the final against Chelsea on Saturday.

Chamberlain described Ozil as being a ‘silent assassin’ and the ‘coolest guy ever’ who is so generous that he pays for his teammates holidays.

The England international told the Arsenal Player ahead of Saturday’s FA Cup final clash with Chelsea: “Mes is like the silent assassin, he goes about his business quietly.

“If you want to engage in a bit of banter with Mesut, he is up for it, but if you don’t he’s not bothered. He will just go through his game, leave training, live the life at home and then come back to training [the next day].

“He’s the coolest guy ever, he’s one of those guys who will have a spare flight somewhere and will say: ‘Do you want to come on holiday with me? I’ve got you’. You’re like: ‘Yeah, I’d love to’ – and off he takes you.”

Chamberlain and Ozil both starred in the 2-1 victory over Chelsea.

Ozil ended the season with 12 goals and 14 assists in all competitions this season but he has just over 12 months remaining on his contract.

The 28-year-old will hold talks with Arsenal over his future this summer regarding extending his current deal.

The playmaker currently earns £140,000 a-week but is reported to be demanding £300,000 a-week according to the Daily Mail.
