‘He’s on a fast plane to Istanbul’ – Henry Winter confirms which club 28-year-old Arsenal star will join this summer

Times journalist Henry Winter has revealed that Arsenal star David Ospina is headed for a summer exit.

Winter stated that Ospina will be joining Turkish league giants Fenerbahce.

The football pundit expressed surprise that Arsenal head coach Arsene Wenger started Ospina in the FA Cup final.

Winter said that Ospina would be taking a fast plane to Istanbul, Turkey the day after the final played Wembley.

Winter told talkSPORT: “The fact is that Ospina’s leaving for Fenerbahce.

“He’s on a fast plane to Istanbul tomorrow, probably, so I find it very strange [that he started the FA Cup final].

“Petr Cech has been, along with Alexis Sanchez, Arsenal’s best player this season.”

Ospina put on a decent display in the final, making key saves in the Gunners 2-1 win over Premier League champions Chelsea.

The 28-year-old has been closely linked with a move to Fenerbahce this season and it looks as if the Istanbul giants are on the verge of wrapping up the transfer.

The Colombian international recently revealed that he was open to a move to Fenerbahce.

“My agent is dealing with transfer matters but I will say this, I’ve told Arsenal that I want to leave and I would play in Turkey,” Ospina told Fanatik reporters Edip Adanir.

“I am actually happy at Arsenal but I want to play regularly, the club understands my situation and will not attempt to block a summer exit.

“We will just have to wait and see what happens next.”

Arsenal and Fenerbahce will be playing in the Europa League next season.

The Yellow Canaries have had a disappointing season and will not be able to finish the league any higher than third place.
