Basaksehir rising star Cengiz Under continues to attract interest from across Europe after an impressive breakthrough season.

Turkish-Football initially reported Manchester United keeping tabs on Under back in May.

Untied rivals Manchester City ended up making the first official bid for Under last Thursday.

A source close to the player revealed that City’s bid was actually higher than initially reported.

The first bid made was €8 million but after four-hours or talks City increased their fee to €9 million including a further €4 million of potential bonuses.

The final offer was worth up to €13 million but a deal was not struck.

Basaksehir want the fee up front as 30 percent of any deal will go back to Altinordu.

The Istanbul minnows signed Under on a €700,000 move from Altinordu last season.

Under went onto score nine goals, provide seven assists and play a key role in his side finishing the season as runners-up as well as reaching the Turkish Cup final.

City are still in talks with Under but are facing pressure from Roma.

The Italian giants made a €12 million offer upfront which could increase with bonuses.

Basaksehir have yet to make a final decision and while no offer has been confirmed the Roma offer currently looks more attractive.

City are expected to hold a second round of negotiations over the next few days.

Basaksehir are under no pressure to sell as Under has another four-years left on his contract.

The club are also keen on loaning Under back for another season if he does end up being sold.
