Liverpool vs Leicester: Possible line-ups – Contract rebel will miss Premier League Asia Trophy clash
Liverpool take on Leicester City in the Premier League Asia Trophy in Hong Kong today.
The Foxes beat West Brom 7-6 on penalties on Wednesday to book a place in the final, while Liverpool saw off Crystal Palace 2-0 shortly afterwards.
The focus before the game surrounded the future of Philippe Coutinho who has been closely linked with a move to Barcelona.
Reds head coach Jurgen Klopp has underlined that his star man is not for sale.
“But a very important message, maybe – we are not a selling club,” Klopp said in the pre-match press conference.
Klopp will have a strong team available to him including record summer signing Mohamed Salah.
The biggest absence will be midfielder of Turkish origin Emre Can.
The contract rebel has just 12 months remaining on his deal and has yet to sign an extension.
Can is currently on an extended break after winning the Confederations Cup with Germany.
The 23-year-old is in Turkey but is expected to return to Liverpool for pre-season training after returning from the Far-East tour.
Klopp will also be without Nathaniel Clyne who has a muscle strain. Sadio Mane, Danny Ings, Harry Wilson are also out injured.
