Swansea join Crystal Palace in race for Dutch star defender, Fenerbahce will consider offers

Fenerbahce defender Gregory van der Wiel looks set to leave the club this summer after a turbulent season.

Wiel fell out of favour with previous manager Dick Advocaat and was involved in a bizarre court case, accusing an events manager of swindling him out of $4.5 million.

The Dutch full-back has had no shortage of interest with Crystal Palace being closely linked with a move according to Football.London.

Palace could end up facing competition from Swansea City.

Fotomac claim that Van der Wiel is on the Swans radar and that offers have been made.

Per the source, Fenerbahce will consider bids made for Wiel and make a decision on the most attractive offers.

The Netherlands international has three-years remaining on his current contract with the Istanbul giants.

The Yellow Canaries are however, keen to offload Van der Wiel in a bid to free up their wage bill.

The experienced full-back earns €2.2 million per-season.
