Man City star Ilkay Gundogan heaps praise on Chelsea’s transfer policy and states Liverpool have ‘a lot of potential’
Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan has weighed up his sides rivals for the Premier League title.
The 26-year-old heaped praise on Chelsea for their transfer of Alvaro Morata. The Blues signed the Spain international from Real Madrid for £65 million (Sun).
Morata has been brought in as a replacement for the outbound Diego Costa. Costa is expected to leave Chelsea after he fell out with manager Antonio Conte.
However, Morata has big boots to fill, Costa scored 20 Premier League goals for the Blues last season.
Liverpool meanwhile have had a pretty quiet transfer window. Gundogan heaped praise on his former manager Jurgen Klopp and stated that the Reds play a ‘different style of football‘ which is ‘difficult to control.’
“Leicester was a bit of surprise two years ago. Maybe next year it will be another team, or even them again. So you never know!”
Gundogan has returned to first-team training alongside the rest of his teammates after recovering from a long-term injury.
Pep Guardiola’s side kick-off their Premier League campaign when they take on Brighton on Aug. 8.
