Liverpool set to miss out on defensive target as Sevilla striker €10m deal, club official confirms negotiations
Fenerbahce defender Simon Kjaer is nearing a move to La Liga giants Sevilla according to reports in Spain.
MARCA claim that Sevilla are on the verge of completing the transfer for a €10 million fee.
Per the source, Kjaer still needs to complete his medical before the deal can go ahead.
The Denmark international would be Sevilla’s sixth signing of the summer if the transfer is completed.

Fenerbahce board member Mahmet Uslu meanwhile confirmed talks were ongoing but denied a deal being in place.
“There is nothing conclusive yet, talks are ongoing,” Uslu was quoted as saying by Turkish-Football.
Liverpool have also been closely linked with the 29-year-old midfielder this summer.
Turkish outlet Fanatik report that Fenerbahce did not want to sell Kjaer and value him as being worth more than €10 million.
The Yellow Canaries are however, under pressure from Financial Fair Play and will have to sell a high value player like Kjaer in order to reinvest funds in a much needed striker.
Fenerbahce were waiting for a higher offer from Liverpool and AC Milan but their striker situation forced them to act with urgency.
The Istanbul giants feel they have sufficient cover in defence but with just Robin van Persie available heading into next season their hand has been forced into finding a new forward.
