Arsenal in talks with Turkish league champions over dropping 30 percent future sale clause for former youth star

Oguzhan Ozyakup has gone onto become a star player for Besiktas since leaving Arsenal in 2012.

The Turkish international played a key role in Besiktas lifting the league title for the past two seasons.

Ozyakup does however, have under 12 months remaining on his contract.

Besiktas claim that the 24-year-old is ready to sign an extension but talks have stalled over recent weeks.

Fanatik report that the reason behind the delay is Besiktas’ insistence to remove Arsenal’s 30 percent future sale clause.

As things stand the Gunners would be set to make 30 percent if Ozyakup were to be sold.

The North London outfit do not want to give up their rights on Ozyakup but Besiktas are prepared to pay.

The Black Eagles are prepared to pay the Gunners €1 million to hand over their 30 percent stake.

Besiktas want the Turkish international star to sign a five-year deal worth €2.5 million per-season.

The Super Lig champions reportedly received bids of up to €15 million for Ozyakup this summer but rejected the offers based on having to give the Gunners 30 percent of the fee.
