Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp admits star midfielder Emre Can’s contract situation is ‘not perfect’
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has admitted that Emre Can’s contract situation is “not perfect.”
The Germany tactician shed light on the ongoing contract saga with the 23-year-old. Can currently has under 12-months remaining on his deal with the Reds.
Klopp is however confident that the midfielder will commit his long-term future to the club.
Serie A giants Juventus have been closely linked with a move for Can. The Italian champions are reported to be lining up a £23 million bid for the Germany international.
“Emre is on a good way. He has really improved in a lot of parts and is a really important player for us. He can play different positions,” Klopp was quoted as saying by the Liverpool Echo.
“The situation is not perfect, I would prefer that he has already signed, but I am still positive we can find the right solution for both sides.”

Liverpool run the risk of letting Can leave on a free-transfer next summer if they are unable to strike a new deal with the 23-year-old.
