“We have to go again” – Liverpool star reveals squad’s reaction to £137m Coutinho proposed move to Barcelona

Liverpool star midfielder Emre Can has spoken about Philippe Coutinho’s proposed move to Barcelona.

The Brazil international has been closely linked with a move to the La Liga giants in recent weeks. According to the Sun, Barcelona are readying a mega £137 million offer to Liverpool for Coutinho.

Coutinho missed both Liverpool’s Premier League opener against Watford FC and the Reds 2-1 win over Hoffenheim last night.

Can believes Liverpool must continue their winning ways whether or not Coutinho remains at the club this summer.

“I think it’s no problem for us because nobody speaks in the team about that,” Emre Can was quoted as saying by the Express.

“Of course, if Philippe stays with us everybody is happy – in my eyes, he’s one of the best players in the world.

“But if he goes, if he wants to go then everyone will wish him the best and we have to go again.”

Can’s future at Liverpool is also uncertain. The 23-year-old has been closely linked with a move to the Serie A giants Juventus in recent weeks.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has however revealed that talks are ongoing between the club and Can.

“So far there is no signing and that is the situation,” Klopp told the Liverpool Echo.

“We are still in talks. Do I think it is too cool that we didn’t fix it so far? No, to be honest. But it is all okay at the moment and we have to take it like this.”

The former Bayer Leverkusen star played the full 90 minutes during Liverpool’s win over Hoffenheim on Tuesday.

The Reds take on Crystal Palace at Anfield in their next Premier League fixture on August 19.
