Man United transfer news: €30 Mourinho target recalled to Barcelona squad after plans to sign Liverpool’s Coutinho stall
Manchester United target Arda Turan has returned to Barcelona’s squad ahead of their opening game of the La Liga season.
Barca take on Real Betis at the Camp Nou tonight, kick-off is scheduled for 19:15 (GMT).
Turan was expected to leave the Catalan giants this summer however, the departure of Neymar Jr has altered Barcelona’s plans.
Manchester United have been recently linked with a move for Turan. The Spanish outlet AS claim United boss Jose Mourinho held talks with Turan and his representatives. Per the source, the Portuguese tactician is ‘a long term admirer of the player.’

However, Barcelona’s efforts to replace Neymar with Liverpool’s Phillipe Coutinho have hit a brick wall. Subsequently, Turan has been recalled to Ernesto Valverde’s squad – a week after the former Atletico Bilbao manager dropped him from the Super Cup team.
Liverpool rejected a third bid for Coutinho from Barcelona earlier this week.
According to the Turkish outlet Milliyet, the move suggest Turan will remain at Barcelona for the season ahead. Barcelona recently slapped a €30 million price-tag on Turan.
Man United recorded a 4-0 victory over Swansea City this weekend. Mourinho’s side take on Leicester City next season.
