Arsenal playmaker trolled by Stoke police following 1-0 weekend defeat
Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil must be used to receiving criticism by now however, even he would have been shocked after being trolled by Stoke police.
Ozil played the full 90 minutes during Arsenal’s 1-0 defeat at the hands of Stoke City on Saturday.
The 28-year-old helped Arsenal assert 79% of the possession but was unable to score or provide an assist.
Following the game, an Arsenal fan sent a tweet to the official Stoke police Twitter account to ‘report a robbery’, the response shocked everyone.

Ozil was also slammed by BT Sport pundits Steven Gerrard and Martin Keown. The duo criticised the Germany international for his lack of effort and negative ‘body language’ when the ball is turned over to the opposition.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger did however defend his star playmaker.
“I think he did fight. It is difficult to single anybody out. I believe we had many, many chances and personally I don’t think he deserves [criticism],” Wenger told reporters after the game.
Ozil has under 12 months remaining on his current contract with Arsenal. The Gunners take on Liverpool at Anfield next weekend.
