Man City team news: €20m Ilkay Gundogan set for long-awaited return
Manchester City host an in-form Liverpool this weekend as they look to record back-to-back victories.
The game will be played at the Etihad stadium, kick-off is scheduled for 12:30 (GMT).
Pep Guardiola’s side are unbeaten after three games but did drop points at home against Everton last month.
The Spanish tactician has received a major boost this week with the return of Ilkay Gundogan.
Guardiola has confirmed that Gundogan could to return to City’s match day squad this weekend.
The Germany international has been sidelined since last December after suffering a knee ligament injury.

“He is pushing hard for a first-team comeback. He’s played a few development games and friendlies,” Man City boss Guardiola was quoted as saying by the Sun.
“His progress has been great and the coaching staff are delighted. Pep will take a closer look at him this week.
“The medical staff will have a say, but he has fully recovered from his injury and it’s just down to his core fitness now.
Gundogan returned to first-team training during Man City’s pre-season tour of the USA. The 26-year-old also featured in a friendly clash with La Liga side Girona.
Man City signed Gundogan from Borussia Dortmund for £20 million last summer. However, the Germany international managed just ten appearances for the Citizens last season.
