“Can’t express how proud I am” – Man City star returns to squad for 5-0 win over Liverpool after 9 month absence

Germany international playmaker Ilkay Gundogan has taken to social media following Manchester City’s 5-0 victory over Liverpool.

The 26-year-old was included in Pep Guardiola’s squad for the first time in nine months. The Spanish tactician did however opt to leave Gundogan on the bench.

Gundogan has been sidelined with a knee injury for the past nine month and only returned to first-team training over the summer.

The former Borussia Dortmund man shared a photo of his teammates celebrating and included the following caption, “Can’t express how proud I am to finally be back in this amazing roster. What a win!”
