Seventeen-year-old Rhian Brewster enjoyed a brilliant 2016-17 season at the Liverpool academy and now finds himself in the first-teams Champions League squad for the first time.

Brewster even made it to the substitutes bench for the first-team last season against Crystal Palace in April.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp decided to include the rising star in his Champions League squad.

Brewster was born in London and represents England at Under-17 level but a little known fact about the young forward is that he is eligible to play for Turkey.

A source close to the player has revealed to Turkish-Football that the Reds wonder-kid has a Turkish mother and would be able to play for the Crescent-Stars at senior level.

Several players in the Turkish national team were actually born outside Turkey including AC Milan star Hakan Calhanoglu, Roma ace Cengiz Under and former Arsenal youngster Oguzhan Ozyakup.

Brewster is one of two players in the Reds Champions League squad of Turkish origin, the other being Emre Can.

Klopp also named star man Philippe Coutinho, Firmino, Salah, Mane and summer signing Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in the squad.

Liverpool take on Sevilla in their first Champions League group stage game.
