‘Gundogan had run rings round WBA’ – Man City fans react to star midfielder’s display against West Brom on social media
Manchester City beat West Brom 2-1 in the Carabao Cup at the Hawthorns yesterday.
Ilkay Gundogan made his first start after recovering from a knee injury which had him sidelined for 10 months.
Gundogan was involved in Leory Sane’s opening goal but came off injured following a tackle from behind made by West Brom midfielder Claudio Yacob.

We took a look at how City fans reacted to Gundogan’s display on social media.
Well we was not expecting such kind words from a Liverpool fan.
I am a Liverpool fan and think he is the best centre midfielder in the league

For his first start in nine months, Gundogan has been absolutely fantastic. Running the game. City should have this game over and done with.

Obviously I wouldn’t wish full fitness on any City player but Gundogan seems like a genuinely nice bloke with the shittest luck

It was a real shame that Gundogan came off injured as he was playing well until Yacob’s double footed tackle from behind.
God I hope he’s okay because Gundogan was looking absolutely class. Such a baller.

Couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy! Gundogan does come across as a genuinely nice guy – on social media and his interviews anyway.
And his the most humble guy ever! Really don’t deserve another set-back…

Gundogan did manage to walk off himself but then again he also did the same in December before being ruled out for 10 months.
City fans will be hoping Gundogan does not miss most of the season this time around.
Walker coming on for Gundogan. Didn’t look good for him. He did walk off, but he did that in December too.

As you can imagine, there were not many fans who had kind words for Yacob.
Complete animal. Gundogan had run rings round WBA and that was the only answer from Pulis and co. Sickening //t.co/J6YkDbeZjH

12 months out, and some dickhead hacks Gundogan down.
Have you no idea the mental effect that had on him, scared he could not carry on?

Now that is below the belt!
Guess the RIP GUNDOGAN shirts will have to be whipped out again
