Red Bull Leipzig Champions League defeat could see £48m star join Liverpool in January
Red Bull Leipzig currently sit bottom of their Champions League group after losing 2-0 to Besiktas at the Vodafone Arena.
Leipzig have one point from their first two Group G games after drawing 1-1 against Monaco on Match Day 1.
Star midfielder Naby Keita played his first Champions League game of the campaign against Besiktas but gave a rather forgettable performance.
In fact he picked up the worst midfield rating from Whoscored for his display on the night.
Liverpool fans will not be too bothered that Keita had a bad game as Leipzig’s failure in the Champions League could see him join sooner than expected.
The Reds already have a deal in place to sign the 22-year-old for £48 million at the end of the season according to the BBC.

German football expert Lee Price told the Express Sport: “I revealed back in June that Keita had agreed terms with Liverpool – and there’s a chance he could move earlier.
“Firstly, don’t get carried away – at the minute it’s only a slim chance and there are no agreements in place, except the one for Keita to move next summer.
“But there’s always been talk that, depending on Leipzig’s domestic and Champions League progress, Liverpool could pay a further premium to get the midfielder early.
“If Leipzig lose on Tuesday, expect Liverpool to hold more talks to discuss whether a January deal could be done.
“A win, on the other hand, would severely hamper any chances of Keita moving early as Leizpig won’t want one of their star players going anywhere.”
Leipzig’s defeat could give the Reds leverage in completing the deal earlier than expected.
The Bundesliga outfit could of course still make it out the group but will need to beat Porto on Match Day 3 to stand a realistic chance.
