Besiktas became the first Turkish side to win their first three Champions League matches after beating Monaco 3-0.

The Black Eagles also recorded more than seven points for the first time in the competition group stage.

The reigning Super Lig champions ended Match Day 3 in first place on nine points, having scored seven goals and conceded just twice.

The victory moved Besiktas into 32nd position from 34th in the UEFA ranking for club competitions.

The Black Eagles remain one spot above the Reds who move up two spots into 33rd place after their 7-0 win over Maribor.

The rankings are based on an average tally over each clubs last five seasons in European competition.

Based on this seasons point tally Besiktas have moved up into second place from 8th spot at the end of Match Day 2.

Premier League giants Manchester City are in first place after also winning their first three games.

Besiktas became the first Turkish side to beat Porto and beat German opposition for the first time after defeating Red Bull Leipzig.

Liverpool were 13th at the end of Match Day 1 but have now moved into 7th place.

City and Besiktas are currently the only Super Lig sides who have won all three Champions League games.
