Liverpool team news: Confusion surrounding star forward injury, England international could make return ahead of Huddersfield clash

Liverpool will be looking to bounce back from their humiliating 4-1 hammering at the hands of Tottenham last weekend.

Jurgen Klopp’s side were picked off at ease by the north London-based club’s counter attacks.

Huddersfield meanwhile pulled off one of the surprises of the week following their 2-1 victory over Manchester United.

Liverpool team news:

Confusion still surrounding the injury situation of Sadio Mane. The star forward suffered a hamstring injury while on international duty. According to the Liverpool Echo, the Merseyside club expect him to be sidelined for at least four more weeks.

However, Senegal manager Aliou Cisse has stated that he will call Mane up to the national team next month.

Either way, Mane will miss Liverpool’s clash with Huddersfield this weekend.

Adam Lallana could return to the match day squad as he nears a recovery from a thigh injury he suffered earlier this season.

Emre Can is expected to retain his place in the squad despite his disappointing performance last weekend.
