(Photo) Man City team news: Star midfielder issues injury update on social media
Ilkay Gundogan played the full 120 minutes during Man City’s win on penalties over Wolves in the League Cup.
The 27-year-old recently returned from a long-term knee injury which kept him out of first team action for over ten months.
Following City’s win on Tuesday, manager Pep Guardiola stated that Gundogan finished the game with an injury.
“Unfortunately Gundo finished with some problems,” Pep Guardiola told reporters after the game.
“I don’t know if it is serious, we will see on Wednesday. We hope it is not dangerous and we need all the squad.”
However, Ilkay Gundogan replied to a fan asking about his injury situation on social media. The Germany international stated, “I’m well thanks. It’s only been a long game.”
